I met my IFs!!!!

Last week I flew to Florida to meet my IFs (intended fathers) and they were so sweet, fun, genuine and just down right awesome! They flew in from France so they got there on a Saturday and me on a Sunday. I didn't meet up with them that day because I didn't have their info at the time and was pretty sure it would be weird to ask the hotel front desk what their room number was (we stayed at the sane hotel.)

I had a headache from the plane ride anyways so I stayed in my room the whole day in bed. The next day we met up at 1130 at the agency and from the moment I walked in we were all smiles and hugs. We talked about everything you could imagine. It was almost like we were distant friends catching up again. There was never an awkward moment. We finally finished at 1:30 and decided to get food. The guys knew of a great place by the beach so off we went. We ate and talked and even went for a swim since the beach was a few step away. It was so perfect.

After that we went back to our hotel room. I went straight for the shower and took a nap. I woke up to a message from T saying they were heading back to the same restaurant for dinner and asked if I would join. Of course I did. We stopped by the bar and had a drink then went to our table. I can't say enough how great these men are. We had a flight to catch the next morning so we didn't stay long.

We all flew to New Jersey that next morning and they almost missed their flight. I wasn't getting on the plane without them so I waited. They were starting the boarding process when they showed up. We sat next to each other and they caught more sleep on the flight. Off the plane to rent the car and one of my IFs started to get agitated because he loves to eat so we're rishingi trying to make him happy again. We were literally in a Sneakers commercial for 30 minutes but I didn't care. I cherished every moment with them.

Anyways, the appointment with the psychologist went well and we are officially matched and ready for contracts. They caught the train to Manhattan and I got on the next flight to Minnesota. I teared up because i didn't want to say goodbye. I will see them again though. I'm so not ready for contracts but when it starts I'll update!

Long overdue update!

Ok, so I'm obviously horrible at keeping up my blog but I promise nothing hasn't been happening for me to update on, well, except now.

So I'm in Florida to meet my IFs (intended fathers) and we're at the same hotel and haven't talked at all yet. Our meeting isn't until tomorrow but since we aren't allowed to exchange information yet we can't actually hang ou . I'm hoping tomorrow we can grab lunch but I doubt it.

Our next meeting will be in New Jersey to see if we really are a good fit for each other and I won't know that official answer until Friday! So if all goes we'll our next step is contracts and that could take for-ev-ER!!

Sorry for the long pause in blogging....

But guess what!!!! I had my med screening and it went so well! I went by myself because my husband had a work emergency so that bummed me out. I hate when he can't be with me. I'm obsessed with the guy lol. Anyways, everyone at the clinic was so nice but the clinic jtswlft was extremely nice, like so nice you could sleep on the floor LOL!

The first part was me talking with that psychologist after taking the 2 hour exam. I swear everything I said she wrote it down lol but that's cool. The more ya know, right? That lasted for about an hour and then I shuffled on to do my ultrasound and saline sonogram. That went well but the nurse said she saw a cycst and it seems bigger than from the times I've seen it with my regular OB. She mentioned it to the doctor and she didn't seem too concerned so we continued. She said everything looked perfect and I was done with part two.

I had my blood drawn and spoke with the nurse I'll be working g with through the journey and she explained everything and have me an antibiotic from having the saline sono. After that I was all done and ready to drop the rental car back off and head home.

Can you believe my flight got delayed three times before I decided to call american airlines and ended up having to stay an extra night and catch a flight home the next day. The only thing I'll say is I'm going to take more clothes next time lol.

Frustrated

So I've been matched my IFs and am now waiting to get a date for my medical work up. Well in order for that to happen I have to wait for their clinic to contact me to set up an appointment. They've yet to call or email me and it's been a week. Very frustrating! My cycle coordinator emailed me yesterday asking had I heard from the clinic yet and I told her no. She says hopefully I'll hear something by Tuesday but if not she will follow up with them.

It took then a week just to say they approved my medical records and is now it's taking just as long for them to call me to even set up an appointment. I feel like I'm just here and not hearing from anyone about anything. It sucks even more that I can't talk with my IFs yet until after the medical screening. I know they're ready to get this show on the road since they've had 3 girls not work out already.

Hopefully next week is the week I hear something from the clinic. Rant over! I'll update if something happens.

Matched!!!

So yesterday's match meeting started off kind of off. Our fabulous cycle coordinator scheduled us for a 1pm Skype meeting but when I logged on it was just her waiting. We started chatting for a little but then noticed it was way after 1pm so she decided to call them. 1 phone call, 2, 6, 10 but no answers. She kept calling and leaving VMs and I'm sitting there thinking I gave my hopes up for nothing.

After the 15th call or so one of them finally picked up and said they were just getting home and would it be ok try again in the next hour. I was fine with that. Besides it was getting late for them since they're in Paris. He also apologized so how could I say no.

Fast forward an hour later and my coordinator was already on but they were not. About 5 minutes later there they were, both smiling ear to ear and so was I. I mean, I was like a school girl talking to her crush!  We talked about a lot of things but the main thing they wanted to discuss was my view on termination and selective reduction. I told them what I thought and they were happy with it. I have no problem with neither.

Anyways, immediately after the video call I emailed our CC and told her I'd love to work with them. I was starting to get nervous because I didn't receive an email from her this morning with their decision but it turns out she was in a meeting most of the day and couldn't email to let me know that they LOVED me and told her last night. I'm so happy at this point. Our next step is finding out if their RE will accept me. Fi gets crosses that they do. I'll update as soon as I know!

Match meeting

I have a match meeting on Wednesday via Skype with a couple whose profile I was given and instantly liked! They're IFs from France and have been with OAC for two years now. They've had 3 surrogates and neither has worked out. Their first surro ended things in the middle of contracts and the other two didn't make it pass the medical clearance phase.

I'm actually nervous about it when the time comes because "just because." Every step has it's on phase of worry. I'm jumping the gun here because I'm already picturing making trip plans for the med screening, doing contracts and a transfer and we haven't even met yet, LOL!!

I hope they make a decision right after our Skype date like most IPs I've heard of so we can get the ball rolling. Like I said I love them already just from their profile. They seem like happy and super fun individuals. They're definitely photogenic too. I'll update as soon as I know something!!
